Kia Kroas's Core Values

A not-yet-completed list of values and morals that I will try to abide by for the rest of my life. No excuses for removing them. (Well, maybe a good reason will be accepted...maybe).

I will....

1) Be honest about myself to myself. I know when I'm doing the right thing and when I'm not. I know when I'm doing my best and when I'm not. I shouldn't lie to myself by saying otherwise.

2) Do not regret not doing something. Either get over it, do it, or fix it. (However, not being able to do something is slightly different. I'll make concessions for that.)

3) Help others whenever possible--whether or not they can help you back. Everyone needs a helping hand sometimes, and the ones who need it most are usually the ones that can't give anything in return. A smile and a nod should be more than enough.

4) Protect and defend the rights of people whether they agree with you or not. I've decided to service humanity, and as a servant to humankind I have the obligation to defend their rights.

5) Be honest. (Or more precisely, be as honest as possible with consideration to the situation.)

6) Be trustworthy. Trust is important in any type of relationship, good or bad.

7) Respect others. Unlike trust which has to be gained, respect is something everyone deserves by default, not just your parents and teachers or elders, but everyone from a homeless guy to the trash collector to that gangster in baggy jeans. However, just like trust, respect can be lost, and regaining it is just as hard.

8) Always be myself. Trying to be someone I'm not is just too hard.

9) Be responsible. Know what I am expected to do and do it right. This affects trust and respect, good or bad, so value it as such.

10) Be timely. Time is expensive, and since I'm broke, I'll have to use it as best I can.

11) Be a perfectionist. (But only to the extent my laziness allows...which isn't a lot.) In other words, make sure the quality of my work is representative of my skills and abilities.

12) Care for others. "Service to humanity" mumblings...

13) Work efficently.

14) Not make concessions on my morals. (Unless the overall monetary gain is enough to offset the philosophical value of such morals by a high enough margin. "High enough" defined in the context of whatever amount of desperation I am in at the time.)

15) Not do it at all if I don't have the time to do it right.

16) Procrastinate only when time allows.

17) Never, ever fuck a whore or slut (or any embodiment thereof). I've got standards I have to keep. Also, they're messed up enough without my help.


More to be added as I think of them. This all seems so lame. But meh, whatever. Three posts!
