Graduation

So today was my high school graduation. Not that great of a day, but meh it's over. Most of the time was spent sitting around doing nothing. Just waiting. All in all, twas a good morning at the end.

Oh and I didn't get my diploma. There was a yellow paper that said I had some fees and fines to pay. I'm sure I don't because I paid for that Pre-Calculus book and already checked with the Finance secretary the week before finals. And if I didn't pay the fines, how did I get my cap and gown? Looks like they did the graduation packet before the cap and gown stuff. Probably some slight mis-synchronization in their computer database. Who knows. Come Monday I'm going to the Registrar's office to complain.

Oh well, s'all good.

Need to start planning the road trip and practice driving a lot more. And the license too. The only day dad gets back at work while the DMV is still open is Wednesday. So I'll have to spend one Wednesday to schedule the driving test and if there's not enough time to test, then I'll have to wait until the next Wednesday. Takes way too long. But oh well, best to learn to drive right than to risk a crash ruining the trip.

Just spent over $90 on a GPS navigation system and over $52 on a trip logger. I made around $350 in May, so that's a sizable chunk of my income. It'll be worth it though. I'd rather not get lost in the middle of nowhere.

Speaking of work, I have to get my head in the game. If I'm to move away from home and live by myself, I'll need a stable job. Freelance gigs are great projects, but I can't rely on it. It's unstable and there's no guarantee of continued work. And there's the health insurance thing too. Still young and healthy, but I don't wanna risk going too long without health insurance.

I don't like writing resumes and applying for jobs. I don't like being part of the system. But in the end, I guess I'll have to try it out. Cost of living in California is going to skyrocket (more than it already is) in the next few years. They're broke and it seems there's no way out. All the harder to make lots of money, but since when has that been my goal? Meh, California's pretty big on the tech stuff, so hopefully I'll land a job in that industry.
