Alrighty, so that's the end of the poems installment. Yeah...there's only ten. Not bad though. Not bad at all.

It is better to go with the dew of the new dawn, than to be consumed by the shadows of the night--for wisdom is great yet not grand, and a parting with blissful purpose shines brighter than forgotten fervor.

The further we advance on the tree of science, the further we are from the roots from whence we came. Is it progress then, to see the skies and gaze at the stars above as their grand illumination sparkle through the night, or is this progress a fear, a fear of the muddy ground? Is it progress at all, to climb so far and yet forget where we were from?

Who wants to be the neighborhood trash man? Not many kids have that on their "when I grow up" list. But it's necessary...at least until robots gain enough common sense to take over the "menial" labor sector. It's the same with a lot of the blue-collar and 3rd shift jobs. They keep the infrastructure going. The trashman cleans the neighborhood, essentially cleaning the houses of total strangers. Mail carriers relay important messages from and to strangers. (This is slowly being phased out with email, but it's still important and I do not see the death of snail mail anytime soon.) And farmers too. They feed thousands of strangers. It's really quite a shame that unskilled persons of entertainment hold more regard and interest than these. (I'm not saying acting isn't a skill, but I don't see why it deserves more esteem than these important jobs.) Maybe that's why America's falling apart. Nobody wants to go into the careers that are vital to the functioning of the country. They'd rather be lawyers or doctors or architects. The really important jobs also tend to be the really dirty ones.

Other misc. stuff

Made some small updates to the database. The code base hasn't changed in a while. Maybe I should do a small upgrade of it soon.
